Bangladesh is one of the top 10 countries in the world which contributes to plastic pollution globally. A study released in February 2019 shows that a total of 821,250 tons of plastic waste were generated in urban hubs of Bangladesh a year, while some 207,685 tons were dumped in a marine environment annually. Waste plastic materials from land mostly end up in the rivers and eventually in the Bay of Bengal, contaminating water to an extreme level. Through Auritry, we are trying to address this devastating environmental issue involving plastics. We are a small not-for-profit organisation that is fighting against this plastic pollution to create a better, greener Bangladesh. Although a small team, we know that one day we will realise our vision through hard work. Nothing is impossible if you have the right intention, and team Auritry runs by this mantra. We understand that there is no second planet to escape. So, the time of change is NOW. We could be heroes; the choice is ours to make.
Our Vision
Single-use plastic free greener Bangladesh
Our Mission
As a responsible citizen, we must care for our nature by reducing use of plastics- Auritry will work towards this goal by raising awareness among all age groups and all classes of people. We will educate people, build their waste management skills, and also provide them with the initial tools to help them apply their newly learned skills. We will start small but scale up our project with time. We genuinely believe in this dream and will achieve this by partnering with dedicated and empathetic individuals and organisations, who want a greener Bangladesh.
